PROGETTAZIONE DI AUSILII RIABILITATIVI PER ANIMALI

The following degree thesis is part of the field of medical design, with a particular pay attention to the veterinary sector. The main objective in this field of re- seeks is to relate the user to the product through a hu- man-centered, thus placing the user at the center of each phase of the design process tation. In this case, the focus is not on being human, but on animals and in particular we address the welfare of dogs who do not they walk correctly or have lost partially the necessary motor functions saries to lead a comfortable life and active. In fact, the quality of life of dogs is limited mind related to their ability to move pour freely and carry out the activities without difficulties. Therefore, rehabilitation motor skills plays a fundamental role in recovery of compromised functionality and in maintaining general health some animals. It was therefore decided to investigate competitions on different devices and rehabilitation aids a arrangement and to analyze its characteristics and main ones, noting the weak points and critical issues. At the end of the research, it emerged it is important to be able to follow a path of recovery of mobility also in the field domestic. The ability to perform exercises rehabilitation at home, not only facilitates a treatment more frequent and continuous process, but also offers a familiar and con- strong for the animal, thus favoring a faster and more effective recovery of functions motor purposes. Not only this approach improves the quality of life of animals, but it also simplifies the management of them care by the owners, promoting active involvement in rehabilitation of their four-legged friends.

La seguente tesi di laurea si inserisce nell’am- bito del design medicale , con una partico- lare attenzione verso il settore veterinario. L’obiettivo principale in questo campo di ri- cerca è mettere in relazione l’utente con il prodotto attraverso un approccio hu- man-centered, ponendo quindi l’utente al centro di ogni fase del processo di proget- tazione. In questo caso, il focus non è sul’essere umano, bensì sull’animale e in particolare ci rivolgiamo al benessere dei cani che non deambulano correttamente o hanno perso parzialmente le funzionalità motorie neces- sarie per condurre una vita confortevole e attiva. Di fatti, la qualità di vita dei cani è stretta- mente correlata alla loro capacità di muo- versi liberamente e di svolgere le attività senza difficoltà. Pertanto, la riabilitazione motoria gioca un ruolo fondamentale nel recupero delle funzionalità compromesse e nel mantenimento della salute generale degli animali. Si è pensato, dunque, di inda- gare sui diversi dispositivi e ausili riabilitativi a disposizione e di analizzarne le caratteristi- che principali, rilevando i punti di debolezza e criticità. Al termine delle ricerche, è emerso quanto sia importante poter svolgere un percorso di recupero della mobilità anche in ambito domestico. La possibilità di eseguire esercizi riabilitativi a casa, non solo facilita un trat- tamento più frequente e continuativo, ma offre anche un ambiente familiare e con- fortevole per l’animale, favorendo così un recupero più rapido e efficace delle funzio- nalità motorie. Questo approccio non solo migliora la qualità della vita degli animali, ma semplifica anche la gestione delle loro cure da parte dei proprietari, promuovendo un coinvolgimento attivo nella riabilitazione dei loro amici a quattro zampe.
