We exported this mod-el to Unreal Engine through Datasmith, a plug-in that allows you to import entire scenarios ensuring the optimization of all the parame-ters and a correct complementation into Unreal Engine. At the 3d model, after an initial check of the presence of all the ge-ometries and textures previously set on Revit, we moved on to an optimization of the materials and the insertion of colliders in order to reproduce their physical behavior. The result was a simulation that allows you to explore the project, viewing the whole space and defining the individual elements that characterize it.

Abstract
Virtual reality allows a totally natural interaction between man and digital content, the analysis of a building project on a computer screen requires a certain level of mental abstraction to imagine a direct experience. Virtual reality is an immediate and im-mersive way to access to it. The aim of this thesis was to experiment a workflow that can trans-fer a digital BIM environment into an immersive environment that can be explored through a virtual reality viewer. To achieve this goal, we used the potential of the Unreal Engine 4.25, a graphic engine widely used in the videogame industry, which, due to its characteristics photorealism, occupies an excellent place in the field of architectural visualization. The object of study was the “Palazzo Municipale Santa Croce” lo-cated in Modugno (BA), we started from a model created using Au-todesk Revit 2020, software dedicated to design and construction developed for Building Information Modeling (BIM), which helps us to build and manage high quality buildings. The result was a simulation that allows you to explore the project, viewing the whole space and defining the individual elements that characterize it.I documenti in UNITESI sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
